Dream SMP - Festival of Destruction! (Spoilers for those who haven't watched any clips of this)

So, on Friday I watched multiple perspectives of the Dream SMP (pretty hard to watch 5 people at once for different perspectives) and I must say.... WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED?!

This will be more of a rant post (and I do apologise for this), but honestly I've been pretty invested in the drama going on as of late for this series, and this was one of the few times I could watch it live. My goodness, was this worth it!

For those who don't know, the Dream SMP is a Minecraft series started by Dream and his friends. Over time, more and more people have been added to the server and many fights and alliances have been formed. To bring you slightly up to speed, currently the leader of Manburg (formerly L'Manburg) is supposed to be a collation with Jschlatt, and Quackity, with Jschlatt taking front and centre as "Emperor of Manburg." Wilbur Soot was the previous leader of the former L'Manburg with his right hand man, TommyInnit, and Tommy's right hand man, Tubbo. That all changed when the vote happened, and the twist of Quackity and Jschlatt teaming up was announced on the day.

The current situation, up until the stream yesterday, was that Manburg was holding a festival to celebrate its success. Tubbo, who was currently Jshlatt's right hand man, not only helped build everything for the festival, but was also an undercover spy for Wilbur and Tommy. Their goal was to claim back what was theirs to begin with, but Wilbur seemed to have more... explosive plans. With the recruitment of Technoblade ("The Blade" as he is known), and Dream offering to help from the shadows, things seemed to be going in favour of the newly dubbed "Pogtopia" party.

That was until Friday, the day of the festival...

Tommy's and Wilbur's perspectives were from afar, watching in wait as the plan was gonna go on. Tubbo and Quackity's were alongside Jschlatt, with Tubbo's audio changing to private conversations with Tommy and Wilbur. Fundy was watching from the crowd and Technoblade was a loose cannon in a sense, showing off his flying skills. Meetings were had, the citizens of Manburg having a good time and Tommy and Wilbur were ready to act based off if Tubbo said a key phrase in his speech... this is where it starts to crumble.

Wilbur gave Tubbo the option to leave out the sentence in his speech to avoid blowing up the entirety of Manburg. Tubbo, wanting to end this more peacefully, does in fact leave out the phrase they planned. While yes, it means Manburg was saved of one destruction, another began, which honestly made my jaw drop.

Jshlatt ended up boxing Tubbo in, knowing he had no pickaxes or weapons on the podium, and admitted to him that he knew he was a spy. He talks of betrayal, of how his own right hand man had been working against him, and how he was going to send a message to everyone on the server... with the help of Technoblade.

Now this was where it got heart-wrenching and chaotic. Techno, due to "peer pressure" ends up killing Jschlatt, Quackity AND Tubbo!! Instead of picking one side, he decided to go for chaos! I honestly related to Tommy when he was so upset not only because Techno's betrayal, but killing Tubbo when he did nothing but want to bring peace to the land again. The chaos that came out of it was enormous! Techno survived, Tommy got killed and everyone had to escape to safe places. Honestly, the entire situation was insane to watch from multiple perspectives and I just couldn't keep my eyes off of it till it calmed down when the rest of the pieces were being cleared up.

This was where I diverted into watching Tommy and Tubbo's perspectives as I was interested more in their arc of the story. Wilbur was more insane and wanted to blow up Manburg even more after this, going so far as to force Tommy to fight for his beliefs all for content (great acting btw good sir, you truly outdid yourself). The plot twist near the end of Techno putting the "missing" button for the TNT was what truly got me questioning who he's working for though.

Overall, the plot is finally ironing out to see what truly happens. Wilbur's villain arc is progressing faster than anticipated, while Tommy and Tubbo are becoming more independent as the sessions go on. It also leads some questions as to what Dream will do while he works in the shadows, and how will everything turns out. I truly enjoy watching through the not only the mini outtakes, but the compilation videos people make in order to help bring others up to speed, or in the know about the situation (which really helps with references, trust me).

What I will end on is that all of this isn't real life, they're playing roles in a game and enjoying themselves. While they do seem pretty upset at certain parts, it's all part of their experience and at the end of the day, they're all friends. So don't hold it against any of them for the things they do (especially Schlatt and Wilbur as their roles are pretty intense and they're both doing an amazing job at it).

Thanks for at least reading this mini ramble of Minecraft. Now to give in to the clout and subscribe to Technoblade.
